HELAHIRN is a two-year-old electronical and instrumental project which was found by Luka Tavcar. It was created due to a great wish of creating music individually - all of the bands he used to play with no longer existed at the time. His music is based on a fresh and inovative concept because it possesses a variety of different music genres, everything from metal, punk and d'n'b up to electronic music. Hearing this music live is a unique experience, full of energy and smashing catchy rhytms. Now, even though Luka comes from a calm picturesque little village Sorica, expect the unexpected, because the underground of this area usually serves with quite dark and extremely creative musical masterpieces. What is to be expected is a powerful, energetic and unforgettable live act which will not give you a break at home and especially, of course, live, when the echoing sound of the countless speakers dares to try and influence your mind as well as your outer and inner body parts.
Icarus Down was formed in 2004 by a group of four musicians trying to figure out a new sound that would differ from any other musical experiences they had in the past. They all come from relatively different musical backgrounds, hence the search for the diversity of styles ranging from atmospheric to heavy, but in all means uncompromising and meaningful. A demo with 10 tracks was released in 2005 which was recorded and promoted trough the Slovene scene by themselves. After the departure of two band members in 2006, Alan Jančič on guitar and Jaka Tavš on drums filled the gap and started writing new music as well as playing gigs trough out Slovenia. Later that year an EP titled Soundtrack Of A Weekend was released, containing three songs. A video for the single Push Me And I'll Let You got good reviews and was aired on numerous major Slovene TV stations. The video was entirely produced by Icarus Down themselves, following their passion of stepping out of the mould of just making music, and be creative on different fields as well. After touring trough Slovenia they decided to get back in the studio in 2007, and record a debut record. The album Contortions, Moods swings And The Inevitable Decay Of Relationships was released in early December 2007 under CPZ records. A video followed for the first single Minus All. Second single and video for the song Venus was released in early 2008. After the promo tour in Slovenia and abroad they again headed to the the studio in the summer of 2008, to record a double album titled The Burning Water Project. First album titled ANALOG, was released in late 2008 as a free download. It is an acoustic rendition of songs from their previous releases including the demo they've recorded in 2005. The group invited the guitarist Jure Zdovc to join them on acoustic guitar, Barbara Avsenak on vocals, and Urban Knez on clarinet. hey released the second album DIGITAL in early 2009, which was also available for free download. It contains the darker, colder side of Icarus Down. It's noisy, sequenced, arrhythmic, ambient feel compliments the warmer side of the double album. After the tour and the departure of their lead singer Jernej Jevševar they decided to take a break, and find a new, intense, fresh sound. During that period they merged with Tomaž Mihelec, who became their new lead singer and guitarist, and Jure Zdovc who contributed on their previous works on guitar. The band became a 5 piece, determined to change the concept of the band again, play different music and continue to challenge themselves with an uncompromising outlook on their work. They are currently finishing their fifth album. Some of the new material is already available online, and a new single and a video for it will be available in the near future.
Moonlight Sky Trio play a mixture of fusion jazz with Balkan influences and are considered to be one of the prominent groups in Slovenia. In 10 years of our existence we recorded three albums and played on numerous stages throughout Slovenia and neighboring countries.

Vokalna skupina Katice
The female vocal group Katice grew out of the France Marolt academic folklore ensemble, while the wider public may know them through their collaboration with the pop singer Magnifico on the album Od srca do srca (Heart to Heart, 1993). The ensemble sings traditional songs from all regions of Slovenia, preferably those from the fringes of the Slovenian ethnic territory such as Rezija, Bela krajina, Istria and Prekmurje, which are especially diverse, as they all bear traces of influence from neighboring cultures. Katice also sing modern arrangements of folk songs, and enjoy the challenge of connecting the old and new, traditional and modern. They have also built their reputation on collaborations with well-known names from the Slovene music scene such as Vlado Kreslin, Zoran Predin, Lauferji, Terrafolk, Aldo Kumar, The Stroj, Dario Marušić – artists who helped Katice break down music borders. During their almost 20-year career they have travelled a good part of the world and released five albums of arrangements of traditional songs: Katice (Helidon, 1995), Se dela greh ... se sliši smeh (One Sins...Another Hears Laughter, Helidon, 1998), Jungfraua (Maiden, Menart; Dom svobode, 2001), album of Christmas music Oj, fijole, novo leto je! (Hey, Hey, It's a New Year!, Celinka, 2009) and Kateritem (Celinka, 2012) which is a product of cooperation with well known music producer Aldo Ivančič and drummer and percussionist Jaka Berger.
Barely Modern, garage rock'n'roll trio from Logatec/Ljubjana, was formed in 2008, consisting of Žiga Petkovšek (guitar, vocals), Miha Kononenko (bass) and Jan Vihar (drums). In 2009, they participated in Klubski Maraton organized by Radio Student and went to the Pan-Slovenian club tour, after which, they joined a collective Cheap Tunes Records. At the end of 2010, they moved to London in order to present themselves to the music scene and played over 20 concerts in one year. Their music was aired on some radio stations, and their song You Look At Me, I Look At You reached no. 6 on the unsigned bands chart on tourdates.com. In November 2011, they returned to Slovenia, where they played a few more gigs, the last one in Kino Siska, as the opening act for a British band called Kill It Kid.
BeatMyth is a collaboration of two people DJ PlankTon and Mike Preeters. Mike’s feeling for melodies and PlankTon’s feeling for rhythm and sound is a perfect combination for various unpredictable productions that are not limited to one genre. They started to work together when they were roommates in a student flat in 2007 and since then many different productions were made. Now days they are doing mostly fat-sounding-breakbeat and they are working with MC N'Toko on vocals.
DandelionChildren became "earborn" approximately five years ago. The result is a trio from Ljubljana (Nove Jarše), Slovenia. Members include: Jure: vocal, bass, guitar, keyboards/ Anze: guitar, bass, back vocal/ Katja: drums What's interesting and extraordinary in this band is the switching of base and guitar between Jure and Anze (also on stage) , unusual track arangements and genre diversity. (along the unique style you can detect/hear lots of different genres like punk, funk, country, blues, ragge, ska and also alter/progressive rock). The alternative rock band Dezurni krivci (eng. Scapegoats) was formed in 1996 in Sv. Jurij ob Scavnici – Slovenia. They create exclusively their own genuine music, which is difficult to define, because in it numerous styles of rock`n`roll are interlaced. They released their work on three records: Nikogarsnje mesto – dalec od ljubezni (Nobody`s Town – Far From Love) / DK records 2001, Kakor clovek (Like a Human) / Dk records 2003 and Strup (Poison) / DK records 2007. Band's last record Strup is a logical continuation of their previous. ''Strup'' was made in collaboration with Hannes Jaeckel, an austrian producer, in the UTT Klagenfurt / Austria and Tricom-Music Home / Cologne studios. The result of tree-year work is a sharp, polished and uncompromising album, marked as one of the best alter products of 2007 in Slovenia. The album can be downloaded for free at www.dezurni-krivci.com. The music and lyrics, mostly in Slovene language and sometimes in English, are written by the band members themselves. Since the beginning Dezurni krivci have played about 150 concerts in clubs and festivals in Slovenia, Austria and Croatia. For themselves they say that they are essentially a concert band and the touch with their audience during live events gives them the energy and inspiration for further creating.
The project started when Max Power and Dahow got the idea to unite punk-rock elements with electronic music, particularly drum’n'bass. There was no such bands known in this region and a lot of interests. Max was involved in a bunch of rock oriented projects previously, while Dahow is producing electronic music since 1998 and led projects for stimulating local electronic music producers (Elektrofolp, Electronic beats etc.). He appeared as DJ and live actor in different venues including Ambasada Gavioli. As soon as MC Omis, ex frontman of Mi Familia who already collaborated with Dahow, heard about the idea, he joined the project and electromonster Hex started to bringing up! It passed just a few months and they released their first single “Adrenaline” which grabed a lot of media attention in Slovenia and worldwide. Their music video was regularly playing on MTV Adria and it can be heard now on many radio stations. After the first single they released “Party Destruction” EP which contains 3 tracks (original – Party Destruction, dubstep and house version) and a drum’n'bass remix of 90s legendary track “Killing in the Name” of Rage Against the Machine. The summertime was coming and Party Destruction Tour 2010 with it! Triple-headed monster Hex were shaking many stages including Dan Mladosti (biggest festival in Slovenian coast), Jungle Flash (reggae-jungle festival) and others. LastDayHereis a band that steps out of the stereotype perspective of modern rock. Well based instrumental parts spiced up with amazing vocals can easily be enjoyed even by the most pretentious listeners. The music tends to be authentic and of good quality (it's especially distinguished by vocal parts), which is also true for live performances. For LastDayHere every gig is as important as it was the last, which is in accordance to the band’s name based on the saying “live every day as if it were your last“, and is shown in a convincing and powerful live performance. All that we have is this moment and it has to be seized to the maximum. There is only today and it's time for LastDayHere! This is the kind of energy they will present at every single show; despite how many times you've seen them. Enthusiasm for their concerts is big after their every performance. In a very short time, debut album “From Pieces Created” has been very positively accepted among local and foreign media. One of the first reviews states: “If these guys keep this up they are headed for the same place as Metallica, Nickelback, and AC/DC!“ (Melted Metal Web Radio, November 2007). The band was also featured in the German edition of the leading metal magazine Metal Hammer, where the author wrote: “It's necessary to check this band out.” (Metal Hammer, April 2008)
Official band members::: Koolade (born Matko Sasek) is a Croatian hip-hop producer. Born in Zagreb, Croatia in the late '70s, he began his music career in the mid/late '90s, becoming one of the founders and cornerstones of the Croatian hip-hop scene. Along with other members of the Blackout family he made a strong contribution in making hip-hop an established genre in the Croatian mainstream music scene. Soon after that, he and his partner/manager Phat Phillie realized that his production would make a good export, and continued to expand his work throughout Europe and the US, where he is perhaps best known for his works with Masta Ace on Disposable Arts and A Long Hot Summer, as well as a number of other prominent American hip-hop artists such as Ghostface Killah and Talib Kweli. Today, many consider him one of the European trademarks for good quality hip-hop. Erik Marenče Is recognised as an outstanding pianist, accompanist, composer and educator, performing regularly with many leading singers and instrumentalists in concerts, broadcasts and recordings throughout Europe. I can't imagine life without music. Without the love of people, who inspire me each day. Without the nature with all it's beauty I see in it. Without the passion to see beyond the surface. Without a sunny day and my morning coffee. Without the sound of the nails on my guitar. I even can't imagine not being miserable :)
- I've been a musician my hole life. Professionally over 10 years.
- bands in which I've been: Spleen, Obduction, BRO, Ashton's kitchen /present: mediocore, naio ssaion
- I have a rich concert history. To name a few: festival LENT (Maribor), winner of Newcomer festival in Graz (Obduction 2008), lots of club concerts at home and in abroad.
- apart from singing I write my own music and lyrics and on my solo path, I have Peter Pavičić to accompany me with his guitar and brilliant ideas.
NEOMI – Poglej - eng. Look (Celinka, 2011) ABOUT GROUP: Neomi is an urban music group at the beginning of their creative career. The band is not connected just through the music, they are also connected through family ties. 1st member of the group and author of the songs is Saška Vipotnik. Next two members of the band are her cousins Jernej Kržič and Tadej Košir. The group is accompanied by a drum player Anže Žurbi and keyboard player Erik Marenče. On backing vocals are brother and sister Urban and Katja Sever. It all started about five years ago, when Saška Vipotnik, otherwise a medical student, presented her songs and lyrics to their cousins that deal with music professionally. Both – bassist Jernej Kržič and guitarist Tadej Košir - were educated at the conservatory in Klagenfurt, her cousin Jernej is still finishing his studies at the SAE Institute. Cousins were impressed by the music and immediately started working on arrangements and recorded demos in Jernej’s studio. Because of the number of studying commitments of all members, the project could only come into realisation just a year ago. At that time they invited all the other members of the band. The plan was to practice together with the band for two months and then record the songs in the studio. But musicians became very connected to each other, they were invited to play some concerts and from a short-term project a real "band" developed. Neomi means sweet and pleasant. Jernej and Saška chose the name while traveling through India. There they met an Israeli girl named Neomi, whom they immediately liked because of her simplicity, sincerity, and of course, because of her name. ABOUT THE ALBUM: Bend is strongly supported from the very beginning by their friends and family which has largely contributed to the fact that they even started recording the album. Friends have also participated in the very formation of the album, so this is really an album with soul, they say. All the songs, with the exception of three, were recorded live in studio Jork and RSL. After recording, Saška and Jernej flew to Finland. In Helsinki in the studio of Ramie Helin, Kick Out the Jams, the songs were mixed. Master was also done in Helsinki by Jürgen Hendlmeier from Germany. Saška Vipotnik, singer speaks in her lyrics about her own experiences and the experiences of her beloved ones, touching all kinds of topics, from love to socio-critical themes. Sometimes her lyrics are just a word game. ABOUT THE SINGLE: The song 'Look' was chosen for the first official single, because they believe that it best represents Neomi. The song speaks about tolerance. Saška says: "Because the social environment is as it is, many people do not even dare to feel the way they feel. So let's give them a chance to feel ..." Noctiferia is an extreme metal band from Ljubljana (Slovenia), formed in 1996. Noctiferia was one of few metal bands from Slovenia and other parts of Balkan at that time. By breaking new ground, the band was always different, always following its own path and exploring music. Noctiferia has been spreading its unique style of extreme metal ever since. After their first demo in 1996 called Gods of Pocka, the band made its first live performance on April 21, 1997 as the opening act at the Absu/Enslaved show in Ljubljana. Soon after that, band entered studio to record its first full length debut Baptism at Savica fall. At that time, Noctiferia represented one of few pagan black metal bands in Europe. The album was reviewed in UK's Kerrang magazine and got 4/5 points. In that time the band did numerous live shows and shared stage with names like Cannibal Corpse, Rotting Christ, Deicide, Dark Funeral, Marduk and Impaled Nazarene. Three years after their debut, the band entered the studio again to record second studio album. The album Per Aspera was released in Slovenia in 2002 and worldwide in 2003 by Artctic Music Group. The band embarked on their first European tour with Marduk, Kataklysm, and Malevolent Creation in 2003. Per Aspera was very much in vain of technical extreme black death metal.[clarification needed] The video for their single, Fond of Lies, was charted at #1 for 8 weeks on Slovenian national TV. In 2004 the band played at their first ever Metalcamp right after Danzig, and it was then that they made connections with their future partner, Mr. Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy/Pain). In 2005 Noctiferia entered the studio once again to record their third album Slovenska Morbida. It is their most experimental album to date. It is strongly influenced by etno music, electronics, and experimental sounds. The band flew to the Abyss studio in Sweden to mix the album with Peter Tagtgren. The album was promoted with several tours- UK tour with Hypocrisy, a couple of shows with Cradle of Filth and Pain, two appearances at the Metalcamp's main stage, a co-headlined metal stage at Wave Gothic Treffen, a headlined metal stage at the Exit festival, opened for In Flames. Slovenska Morbida was re-released for GAS market by Danse Macabre in 2008 with 3 bonus tracks in German. The South-Eastern European tour with Samael and Keep of Kalessin in January 9 was the last under the mark of Slovenska Morbida. In cooperation with the Master of Metal, their debut Baptism At Savica Fall with demo collection was released in 2007 and completely sold out. The pre-production for the 4th album called Death Culture started in 2008 when the band went to Switzerland to the home studio from Mass of Samael. When the ideas were polished, the band entered DB studios and recorded the material. The album was gonna be mixed by Peter Tägtgren but the band had to wait for few months because Peter was busy with Immortal's new album. In order to get the maximum possible quality of the recording, Peter suggested to send it to the Black Lounge studio for the mastering, where Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry) delivered the final punch to Death Culture. In first days of 2010 Noctiferia signed a worldwide deal with Listenable Records who released Death Culture worldwide. So far the band recorded video for single "Demoncracy", played lots of single shows, headlined at Metalcamp 2010, did European tour with legendary Mayhem and another one with Melechech. Noctiferia was aldo the only support band to swedish In Flames on their european tour in septemb er/october 2011 where they performed in front of more then 40.000 people in 20 days! In spring 2012 band will start pre-production for their fifth full length studio album which will be out in late 2012!
Štefan Kovač Marko banda (ŠKM banda)
ŠKM Banda represent a fresh form of musical expression from the plains of Prekmurje region. The music of this quartet from Beltinci mixes influences from jazz, funk, rock, post-rock, improvisation and noise. Their songs are short and “air-tight”, there’s a lot of rhythm-melody changes and quiet/loud parts. Their music could be very emotional, soft and dreamy, as well as drivish, angry, explosive and uncompromised. They developed recognizable sound with complex happy/sad guitars and “groovy” rhythm-section.
In the last seven years they have released three full-length studio albums and one live DVD on the Prekmurje-based God Bless This Mess label: Rdeči (CD/Vinil, God Bless This Mess 2011) Izštekani (DVD, God Bless This Mess/VAL 202 2010) Šamar Janka (CD, God Bless This Mess 2008) Patentat (CD, God Bless This Mess 2005).
Members of a group are also active in other bands and projects (Hexenbrutal, Bekko, Ludovik Material, Dani Kavaš in Narodno zabavni terorizem) and on local “Prekmurje-scene” (club Ambasada ŠKM Beltinci and MIKK Murska Sobota).
Band members are: Jernej Koren - bass; Jernej Sobočan - drums; Mito Sušec - guitar; Iztok Koren – guitar.
TheTide have released two albums so far (Love&Trust - 2006 and Live&Clean - 2008), the latter being a live recording from a show named "Izštekani na Valu 202" - a show with host Jure Longyka on national Slovenian radio. The specter of band's creativity though reaches into other musical spheres - creating movie music for films En Natt (Sweden) and a couple of short movies in Slovenia (Horizont, The Cloud catcher). The Tide also participated in a street performance with a dance group called Mana, playing on the streets of Slovenia live and unplugged, not to mention that their music appeared in a number of commercials in Slovenia. Cooperating with a creative video director and movie expert Miha Knific, so far The Tide has released four music videos (for the songs Carry on, Your river wild and Desire from their Love&Trust album). In september 2009, a new video for single Snow! , which will be presented on their second album, came out, raising much acclaim and serving as a teaser for the upcoming album, as well as promotion for the short movie Cloud catcher. All the band's videos have been premiered on MTV and shown around Slovenia's TV stations succesfully. The band has also been busy playing live - in addition to many shows they even arranged their own Slovenian "Soul out" tour with Canadian artist Neil Leyton&The Ghosts. The Tide states that main focuses when it comes to creation process are harmony, melody and lyrics' meaning, combining them together as well as possible and according to the band's liking. This approach is also visible and especially audible on The Tide's live shows, where the band adds another two important ingriedients - live spontaneous feeling and communication with the audience. One could say that The Tide live sounds energetic as well as theatrical. Their shows often include video projections featuring special art video clips made and designed for a special song. The Tide used this whole audio/video approach to perform on some of Slovenia's greatest festivals (festivals Lent, Zmaj 'ma mlade, Kamfest, Carniola, Teden mladih and HIT Ski Challenge). The Tide's music genre tries to remain distant to normal pop-rock trends, though they still don't want to break up that connection completely, just alter it and design it to their own needs. Their music is by the majoritiy of the critics' opinions multi-layered and meant to be heard more-than-once to really get the whole idea. In the fall of 2010 you The Tide released their third album, which promises to be more aggresive and crude, yet still poetical. "Kings of the hill" are here!
The Toronto Drug Bust
TORUL comprises Borut Bernik – Torul (songwriter, producer, keyboards), Jan Jenko (vocals) and Borut Dolenec (guitar, keyboards). Their debut release Dark Matters (2010) managed to raise a lot of interest outside Slovenia and also brought them a contract with Infacted for the following album "In Whole". The new material from In Whole (released in December 2011 by Infacted) is a regular guest on different charts, like the German Alternative Charts, on the US based Strangeway Radio, regional MTV and others, while the high profile web portal DepecheMode.de awarded TORUL "The Newcomer of the year". A part of TORUL’s success was also brought on by accomplished videos, based on different approaches: the stop-motion used in Try is said to be among the most creative ways of using this technique, while In Whole was shot in one take which made it direct and powerful. TORUL’s concert experiences include several gigs in Slovenian clubs and a festival, and they also played in Serbia and Germany. "Werefox"... the few who dare to transform into "were-creatures" at night and don´t just dream their dreams, but live them. The red-orange colour stands for their potent blood, that drips through their fingers and from their pores onto the strings of their instruments, giving them a character once known in some of the bravest rock performers of past decades. When you listen to "Werefox" you can hear the elegance of malice, the loathing of deceit, the love and pureness that they carry in their souls. Translated into sound it reads like: powerful sonic-melodic guitars, a devilish-angelic voice and a rhythm section that will rip your pants off in one breath. You will recognize "Werefox" on stage at first sight, which might surprise you, but in a good way, since this formation features members of some well known but now non-existing alternative rock bands, that used to thrill Slovenian audiences. We proudly reveal: "Werefox"! The band consisting of: Melée & Beko (ex-Psycho-Path, Bekko) and David & Manuel (ex-Sphericube in ex-Lollobrigida).
